When try to edit hyperlink opens old document

Contributor ,

I'm updating a document with new text and pics. The new text contains new hyperlinks which don't come through into InDesign as hyperlinks so I need to edit them and put in their URLs. When I try to do this, InDesign instead automatically opens the old ID file (a differently named file to the one I'm working on) so that I end up editing a hyperlink in that document instead of the document I'm actually working on. Every time I try and edit the hyperlink it opens the old document. Any idea how I stop ID from doing this? I've updated files with hyperlinks before and have not had this issue.

Never heard of this happening before.

If a document is not behaving well then try

File>Export

Choose IDML

Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.
