I am running InDesign CC on a Mac. I need to edit a client-provided InDesign file with Hindi language using the Mangal font, which i have.
When opening the InDesign file, i get an error saying that the IndicPlus.InDesignPlugin is missing. I've Googled this, but several websites link to the MetaDesignSolutions site for this plugin/download, but that website doesn't appear to provide this plugin any longer (at least i can't find it on their site now). I've also searched Adobe's website, but i can't find it offered from them either.
I have found some sites offering it to 'try for free', others to purchase. I'm happy to purchase it, but I'm a little nervous about WHERE to get it to avoid downloading some malware. Also, I can't find anyone saying that it works with InDesign CC, but instead see things like "works with InDesign 5.5" so i don't know if there's an updated version somewhere that I should look for.
I'm very in the dark about this thing ... does anyone know of a legit place that i can purchase this particular plugin for the current version of InDesign?

Hi bexterinni,
what could help to get a version without the error message:
Export the documents to IDML first. And work on with the IDML files opened as InDesign documents.
Then the information about the Third-party plug-in should be stripped off the documents.
After that you could test if all needed features are supported by your version of InDesign.

Uwe

Hi Becky,
Here is a response by MetaDesignSolutions posted almost 6.5 years ago https://indesignsecrets.com/topic/indicplus-adobe-indesign-cs6-plugin-support-complex-script-typogra... Probably they have stopped making this plugin because InDesign now has its inbuilt feature which supports Indic languages: Adobe Creative Cloud.
In this case, you may have to reach out to your client to either provide you the plugin or a copy saved without using IndicPlus Plugin.

Srishti
