Hello there! Does anybody know why Adobe surrounds some directory names in its products with parentheses?

I use InDesign CS6 on Windows, and here are the filenames from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6\Required:

I'm somewhat obsessive about naming files. Surrounding filenames with parentheses might be a useful practice I'm not aware of 🙂

This is the folder structure of resources created by the OpenDoc Framework Resource Compiler, most notably for plug-ins that the program requires. Don't be messing with them no matter how obessive you are about names! 😉

This is a Windows feature, I believe

They can indicate that the date is not part of the name or what is in the folder.

You can see on Windows own file system
