why are my grayscale images turned to RGB?

I've tried every job option in Distiller and everything I can find in Indesign. Still get RGB grayscale image.

You shouldn't use Distiller at all these days, until you have a really good reason for this.

Basically, we export PDF from InDesign directly: File > Export...

Be sure No Color Conversion is selected in Export PDF dialog, Output tab. This way, as title says, InDesign won't touch your original colors.

An RGB image can appear as grayscale, you can change the image by changing the color mode to grayscale.

Hi,

please post some screenshots of the Print dialog that is showing how you do your PostScript file.

And then show the options you try to distill the ps file.
