Why can't I see the original line while editing a shape in the latest InDesign?

I used to be able to see the original line when editing a shape in InDesign. We have shadows on our branding that are at an angle and I often need to drag the edge down while keeping the same angle. This has appeared after the latest update to InDesign. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a setting to change?

Robin, your question isn't clear to me either. I'm wondering if maybe your problem is because of the way your Interface option preferences are set? See attached screenshot. If your prefs are set to Never, change them to either Immediate or Delayed (which is the default). Let me know if this helps.Screenshot 2018-05-19 09.19.54.png

I'm not at all clear on question, Robin. Can you clarify, and show a screen shot?

Thanks,

~Barb

Are you seeing the difference of fast-dragging and slow-dragging or is It something else?

If you press and hold, then drag, you will see a preview. If you whisk away, you won't. Is that what is happening?

Scott, that's what I was suspecting, but doing it on the fly with Press and Hold, then Drag vs. quickly drag.

Thank you! It was set to Immediate. Delayed did the trick.
