Maybe someone can help with my issue? My colleague sent me an Indesign package made on Windows. After unpacking and opening it on my Macbook Pro Indesign freezes and nothing helps. But a friend of mine opened the same file on his Windows laptop without any lags.
If it matters — I'm using latest Indesign on Macbook Pro 15, 2017 with Mojave 10.14.5 and 16 GB Memory.
Thanks in advance!

Do you both have the same version of InDesign CC and are you both using Open Type Fonts?

Yes, we use the latest Indesign CC and he provided a package with all the fonts he used.

And they were OTFs?

Yep, one of them is OTF is missing (but it is in a folder). But I can't even ignore it and replace it with my font.

Try Save As and save as an IDML file, renaming it and see if that has got rid of the corruption and you can open it and save it as an INDD file.

Unfortunately, I can't save it because right after the file is opened it freezes Indesign and I can only Force Quit. I'll ask a friend of mine to save the file as idml and will try to open it.

I assume its just this InDesign document and that you don't have issues with other documents you produce?
Yes your plan sounds good.

Yes, luckily it is only this particular document and everything else works just fine cross platforms with my colleagues. But this file is from a freelancer who I'm working with for the first time.

It might be a font corruption – is it an Adobe font or a typeface from another foundry?

It is Roboto Font Family but I have no idea where this designer took it from.

The designer may be able to isolate the issue by dividing the document in half and testing each half separately and continuing halving until he establishes which part has the corruption.
I think Roboto is a free font (it looks quite nice).

Nothing helps so far. I think I'll leave it for now and pass this file to someone on Windows. Thank you for your participation, Derek! Maybe on weekends will try to split the file with my friend and look for the problem.

Hi! Sent you an email some time ago. Did you get the message?

Thank you for sharing the package, I have received it. I tried to work with the package on MAC with updated links but the issue was not reproducible. We are currently investigating the issue.
Either me or my teammate will reach out to you for more information.

Try trashing your InDesign Preferences.

Hi, try this script to open the Indd file, maybe it can be the solution to open it.
