Question

Word breaks without hyphen - hyphenation turned off

I have a justified paragraph with some words breaking to the next line without a hyphen, i have hyphenation turned off and if i turn hyphenation back on it doesn't add a hyphen to those words. i checked hidden characters and nothing unusual there. Text is in Yiddish, however i haven't had this issue with previous documents in Yiddish. See attached screenshot with highlighted words.

Appreciate any help. Thanks

I am having the same problem in Hebrew. IT does not matter which font I use. This is a very long document and I need to figure this out.

Updating InDesign worked for me... probably some bug. I'm currently on 19.5 this issue has been resolved, however i've noticed other minor bugs when exporting Hebrew text to PDF. I will attempt to update to v.20 if the issues aren't resolved i'm downgrading to v18.? which was the most stable recent release.

@NaNach108

Unfortunately, if you don't have v18 installed already - you won't be able to install it anymore.

What language did you apply to your paragraph style?

If it is not Yddish because yo don't have any Yddisch dictionary, set the paragraph style language to NO LANGUAGE.

I have tried NO LANGUAGE as well as Hebrew as it uses the same character set
