Hi,
Currently I am working on project where I have an arabic text flowing in its separate frame. Every sentence is ending with a number in a circle. Marked with red in attachement.
In the green box below the arabic, is its translation in Urdu. It is also in its separate frame. In Urdu also every sentence is ending with a number in circle. Marked with Blue square (1st one).
My job is to match the end numbers of urdu translation. I am achieving this by selection the urdu translation inside the green box and using Ctrl+Alt+\ to increase the word space. I am also using Alt+ right or left arrow to increase and decrease the tracking. It is working but its too slow.
Is there a way to control Ctrl+Alt+\ ? I could not find any place to increase its threshold. In fact, its an undocument command. It just increases the word space. Can a script do this or change the threshold of the word space ?
Thanks

Any chance you can make them separate Paragraphs?

They are separate paragraphs in their own individual textframe and layer. I'll email you the idml if required for the structure.

This is what I meant by Paragraphs:
What is strange - when I started this new Paragraph - this happened:
I know I don't have your fonts installed - but why it displayed "fine" initially?

I've substituted your fonts - but it looks like you've a lot of separate texts with different / local formatting:
I think mostly Kerning?

OK...
I'm not sure if I've got Unicode codes right - please ignore what you see in the IDT's window - Green rectangle - font supports Unicode but most likely is wrong?
Yellow rectangle - 2nd set of Unicode values is as per @Peter Kahrel's script in another post.
1st set - I just check Unicode value of the last number - so I'm not sure if theat's correct.
Red lines - rather self explanatory.
As you can see in the 2nd column - ID - they are pretty much interlaced - till you get to the second page:
but most likely there will be more of those - which isn't a big deal anyway.

Looks like when you change WORD SPACING - you are changing KERNING of the SPACE between words.
The one that is marked in the text - has value 280 - multiple of 20.
So, you just need to play with Kerning/Tracking value in the Preferences.

And here are shortcuts:

As you can see here - red rectangle:
IDT already extracted horizontal offset of the Characters you want to align together.

@Robert at ID-Tasker Wow that was great effort. Thanks.
The green box number inside circle is a private unicode segment so it wont match with the arabic text.
Actually I wanted to modify x5 part in "Increase by 5x" . Its either 1x or 5x.
Anyway thanks a lot for your efforts.
