I cannot open the file that last worked on. The file size has gone too big than the previous verion.

Receiving an error message as "Cannot open "filename.indd".Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plugin that supports the file format may be missing. or the file may be open in another application. "

Hi bk90853962 :

  • What version of InDesign did you use to create the file?
  • What version of InDesign are you trying to open it with?
  • If the versions are different, was there a plug-in installed into the original version of InDesign?
  • If the versions are different, is the file open in the earlier version?

Hi,

thanks for the response.

I have created this in InDesign cs6 and I am trying to open in the same

version.

But it is still not working.

Thank you,

Regards,

Hi bk90853962 :

Did you restart InDesign?

Restart the computer?

Trash preferences? (If you don't know how, scroll down to "Restore all preferences and default settings" in the file and follow the instructions: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign)

If none of that works, take a look at Troubleshoot damaged InDesign documents.

Did you at any time work on it on someone else’s computer, or at any time have a trial of a newer version of InDesign (like CC)?
