Indesign file won't save to Server but will save locally

Suddenly today, me and another user on the same network became unable to save Indesign files on any of our work servers. We can save Indesign files locally though.

We get this message: "failed to save the file due to insufficient disk space. please free up some space and save file again server indesign"

  • We can save files on all other adobe programmes such as Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • We can save on other non adobe programmes such as MS Word
  • We have 48GB of free space on the server (the file is only 3mb)
  • We are both using identical macBook pros.
  • We can save the Indesign file locally and copy accross to the server.
  • All the linked files within the Indesign document are still conected to the server.
  • Indesign is uptodate and updated 8 days ago and has worked fine since then.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Though we have limited support on Network and VM related issues (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/enterprise/kb/technical-support-boundaries-virtualized-server-based.htmlbut from personal experience I would suggest you few things which you must check:

1. Check if this is happening with these 2 user accounts only or with multiple users.

2. Check if there is any antivirus or if there is any end point security or if there is any restriction imposed by your IT Team. Due to this sometimes server does not allow application to save but you are able to save outside the application.

3. This generally happens when network policies or Operating System is updated, check with your IT team for the same.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh
