InDesign help

Hi,

I am doing a website layout and will use it as an interactive document to send a a colleague. Is there a way to create subpages in Indesign. For example, the primary page is About with the subpages being mission,  artistic director, education etc... I am working my way up to Adobe XD and may very well end up double working, but I am more comfortable with very basic design features in InDesign and would like to start here. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

InDesign is created for doing publishing of all kinds of publications—for print, PDF, EPUB or Publish Online. For that it excels. But it's a professional tool, and some of the ways it work are not intuitive and not easy to learn on your own.

InDesign is NOT a good choice for web design. If you're trying to create comps you're much better off learning and using Adobe XD. I went through a tutorial on XD a few months ago. It's much more intuitive and easier to learn than you'll find in InDesign. InDesign has no concept of "subpages," by the way.

Hi Steve thanks so much for your kind reply. I have worked in InDesign now on two major print projects, and was reading online that it is best to do photo editing in Photoshop, Drawing and such in Illustrator, Design and Layout in InDesign and finalizing the project in XD. I have found very quickly that there are definitely some challenges to only working in XD for Design. I have managed to get the first two pages as I want. But, I think I now have the same question for XD. Is there a way to create a sub page for the About page? I would ideally like 4 pages that I can wire to the About button when I'm in the prototype phase, but am not sure how this is done. I've been looking at the Adobe video tutorials and have figured out most of it on my own as those tutorials are really not very helpful at all, which is quite disappointing. In any event, if you know a way to add sub pages in XD, please do let me know. Thanks again for your reply. C

I think you'll need to ask in the Adobe XD forum here:
