Indesign not displaying PDF RGB Blending modes properly

Hi, I exported a RGB color mode document to PDF with RGB color profile so the blending modes display correctly. When I open the PDF file in Acrobat the graphics look correct. When I place the PDF into my indesign document, Indesign does not display the blending modes properly. It looks like it is using CMYK color mode to render the blending modes, you can see boxes around the vector shapes where they should be transparent.

How do I get Indesign to render this pdf properly? Is it my export settings in illustrator or do change some settings in indesign? Please help. Right now I exported to JPG just to be safe but I would still like to fix this problem.

Assuming you’re creating it in Illustrator, save it as a PDF/X-4 file and place that in InDesign.

Make sure your transparency blend space is set to RGB in InDesign.

Thank you Bob and John!

Changing the blend space fixed the problem. I was hoping it was as simple as this.

Check Edit > Transparency Blend Space and change it to RGB if necessary. And, turn on Overprint Preview. (View > Overprint Preview)
