InDesign "autoflow" procedure overrides default font and styles.

It puts everywhere font "Minion Pro". I have uninstalled it from system and from InDesign ( in Program Files by renaming it) , useless, it is unperishable. Outside "autoflow", my default style for typing is OK, and old files created earlier by "autoflow" are OK, but I cannot import their styles, as they are automatically overrided. This happened probably after a crash of InDesign.

I looked also into "Load All Text Styles": incomingStyle conflictwithExistingStyle useIncomingDefinition, no effect.

You can also change the InDesign default font and size by selecting them from the drop-down menu without any document open.

Of course, I have tried it before posting it here. To understand the problem we first need to discover why the overriding happens, and the procedure is reversable. After overriding I select all or a part of text and revert it to any font. A script can also do it, or forbid to use Minion Pro.

I don't completely understand your problem (although I am trying to), Kentawr248, but I can tell you that if you have issues with the software itself, it is best addressed on User Voice. The engineers and product managers and other users look at suggestions. It is the best place to express your opinion about Minion Pro. It's not as popular now as when InDesign was released, and you have a great idea.

When I place files into InDesign, they usually come from Word and have styles. I map the styles to my InDesign styles so I never see the issue you are seeing. Can you explain your workflow a lititle better?

You should probably start by telling us what version of InDesign you're using and the exact operating system. Then provide screen captures of your issue

your question is irrelevant, I have the latest version of app and system Windows, screen capture of what? I doubt you know the issue.

Hi,

There is no need to be rude - Steve is very knowledgeable and probably does know the issue, if you can explain it a little more clearly.

The screen captures should show the text that you've imported and in particular the paragraph and character style definitions that are active in the frame you are importing the text into, or if you're not importing into an existing frame, then your default paragraph and character style definitions.
