Hi,

Im trying to find why the interface of Indesign is very much bigger than Photoshop or Illustrator!

Can you help me with that?
Thanks 🙂

    Hi PolyF:

You are right. There is a difference in size, though I didn't see either until I laid one on top of the other. As Bill said, only Illustrator has the option to scale the interface up or down at the moment, although I would expect to see the option added to InDesign and Photoshop at some point in the future.

Thanks for your answer BarbBinder! Actually it is a bit strange .... also the icons (left -up corner) are not the same in indesign that in photoshop

InDesign has more in the Control panel. Maybe that is what the issue is? You can control what is in the Control panel by going to Customize Control Panel wheel in the top right corner. You could also use the Properties panel instead of the Control panel. That may help.

I'm not seeing much of a difference in the interface size based on your screen shots (or from looking at the three programs on my Mac). Only (current versions of) Illustrator actually has the ability to change the size of the tools and panels through the User Interface of the Illustrator Preferences. Could you please provide the versions of the programs that you are working with and your operating system?

The real reason for all of this is that different engineering teams are assigned to each program which leads to even similar looking panels (like the swatches panels in Illustrator and InDesign) actually working differently. By the way the screen shot you showed for Illustrator was the startup screen which doesn't actually show the tools or panels (the comparison of these to the other programs was, I believe, the point of the original question).
