So I had to move our Marketing data to another server because of space issues. We have three people that use InDesign and two of the three have been fine after the data move over a week ago. When they open InDesign files it prompts them to re-link the files and they go on about their day. The third user is the problem. Her system will sit there for 20 or 30 minutes after opening an InDesign file before it might open. I have set up a new computer, Windows 10 1809, with a fresh install of InDesign CC and it does the same thing on this new computer.
I can make the old Marketing share available on the old server (Read-Only) and she is able to open the files on the new share but once I close the old share and have her completely on the new share it's as slow as can be.
The Marketing share is mapped as the M drive and when I open the old share (not a mapped drive) the images still point to M and not the old UNC path.
Has anyone seen anything like this?

I'm not sure about the speed, but the linked images might be working properly. The first place InDesign looks for the linked images is in the folder where the InDesign file resides. If they aren't there, it looks to the last place they were (the original location), and if they aren't there, you have to use the links manager to re-establish the link to the new locations. Once the new links are established and the file is saved, there shouldn't be any problem with missing links unless the links are moved again.
So, are the linked images in the same folder as the InDesign document? If not, have you re-linked to the new location and saved?

Thanks for the explanation.
The images are not in the same folder as the InDesign document. They have all of their images in folders, on their marketing share, sorted by job/proposal/event and they link to those image folders. If I enable the old share, just where the UNC is available and not the drive letter, then her InDesign opens and prompts for re-linking of images but there are thousands of InDesign files that would need to be re-linked and I can't keep this old share around since the server is on it's way out. The other two marketing users do not have this issue. I can just have them pointed to the new share/mapped drive and their InDesign will prompt for re-linking files.
Just trying to figure out why this one user is having this issue and the others are not.
Thanks

If they all have the same version of InDesign, then it's probably a network issue. There are people on the forum who know a lot about these things, but I'm not one of them, so I hope you will get some help from someone.

Thanks so much! After messing with this for the past day and some other things that have come to light I think I need to start a new post. It's not exactly the same issue it was yesterday.
