Opening and indd file which uses a password-protected pdf

hello,

I am typesetting a book in which there are some images at the beginning of chapters. I was supposed to use all the images from a pdf which is password-protected. I worked on almost the entire 200 pages without any issue and saved the file. But now when I am trying to reopen the .indd file, it asks me for the password to open te pdf - which I enter EXACTLY as it is (note that the pdf is opening in itself with this password), but it says the password is invalid. Shows me the following screen :

Has this happened to anyone before?? Please help

Can you kill it all the passwords in that PDF's? Why do You need them?

I wasn't able to remove the password since it wasn't put in by me.

Believe it or not, I kept putting the password (which was correct but not opening the document) many times, until I got pissed off and clicked 'cancel' angrily many times and it opened!! I have no clue how, but I have now saved the pdf without password and replaced all the instances of the pdf with this alternate one. Phew!

Then I would do what I do with clients who send me Password protected PDFs,  I'd inform them that I can't do anything with those and to send me a PDF that isn't password protected

Did you try to restart Indesign and/or your Computer?

Otherwise, just take away the passwords from the PDF's as George_Salnik said.

Definitely kill the password option on the PDF.  If you're just the one working on it,  no need to encrypt and password protect the PDF.  it would only cause more headaches.
