Hi,

never had an issue with sending package files. but i can only attribute it to this yellow warning symbol. see thumbnails below.  why is there a yellow symbol and what is/could be the issue?

What's to explain? There's nothing wrong with the files. InDesign has always thrown an alert if images are RGB.

Made sense in 1999. Today? Not so much.

That's because of the RGB images which at this point is absolutely ridiculous.

Like I said…it’s an old stupid alert that should be removed. It’s a relic of ancient times when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Ignore it.

ok. maybe be a glitch from our end. we have 3 people with 3 different versions of indesign (2017, 2018 and 2019) so maybe the indesign file is getting corrupted from making .idml files several times a day?

Nothing is corrupted. Nothing is wrong. The images flagged are defined using RGB colours, instead of CMYK. This is not a problem and it is improper for InDesign to flag them, but it does. Ignore.

Hi Jonathan,

it's only a warning, it's not an error.

And that warning is long obsolete, nothing you should care about.

Hm.

However, what's interesting is the column in the list of images that is saying that the placed images have no ICC profile assigned to.

That is something to check. Or to think about if you want to work with accurate color as far as possible. Means, the display of the images could turn out wrong if InDesign is exporting to PDF Interactive with sRGB in mind regarding RGB images and your placed RGB files are not meant for sRGB.

Regards,
Uwe

Yes, PNG files and no profile... now that should trigger a warning instead of RGB 😉

Hi Frans,

I think, this will be the start of a discussion how to best work with screenshots…
