Print preset issues

I have installed an additional printer and now none of the print presets work. I get the following error message:

"Print preset selection failed. Restoring the previous selection."

And then nothing happens.

Unable to set new presets either.

All was working fine until I installed a new printer.

Running Indesign 15.02 on a mac

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I know this is an old thread, but it just happened to me when I moved to InDesign 2024 and Sequoia. Here's how I fixed it.

The presets were still available in File/Print Presets/Define.

Select a preset and click Edit.

Make one change in the preset (I changed Copies from 1 to 2) and click OK.

Edit the preset again and change that setting back. Click OK, then OK in the next dialog.

That fixed it. I'm guessing that making a change to any single parameter is enough to somehow wake it back up.

    The normal procedure is to print from a PDF created from InDesign, not printing directly from InDesign.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have been printing fine directly from ID until I installed the 2nd printer. I had set up the various printer presets for the different types of medium that we print out on to e.g. we have a specific envelope size for example that is printed colour on the front and mono on the reverse....these presets no longer work and have to use the Mac printer settings.

    Are both printers using the same driver software? You might check the Presets to make sure the correct Printer is saved with the preset File>Print Presets>Define:
