Problems with layers when exporting indesign file to epub

Hello,

I have produced a 9 page InDesign Catalogue. On each page I have 2 product ranges. I have two buttons on each page, each when clicked to bring in an animated table of inormation which I have placed on a separate layer in the InDesign Document. When i export the file to epub or publish online with only one of the layers turned on it works fine. But as soon as I turn on the second layer and click the second button it will not work or display correctly.

Ultimately I want to create an entire epub file with all 9 pages working and both buttons bringing in their respective tables on click.

Is this possible or have I set the InDesign document up incorrectly?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

O Campbell

You cannot have anything, including an empty frame above a button and have it function properly. Create another layer for the buttons so they're always on top.

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for your reply to my question.

I’ve done as you suggested but am still having problems.

If you have time to look at the link below this will show you what I am trying to achieve.

I don’t know if I’ve set the InDesign file up correctly and wondered how you would approach this…

If you click on the link below you’ll see what I’m trying to achieve….

https://indd.adobe.com/view/da1c0b10-2038-4374-bfb0-7150f998977a

If you click on the ‘Below Knee’ button the info table comes in from the side and the green x button within

the table shuts it back down.

I’ve go to do the same for ‘Thigh Length’ and there are 6 other pages with similar sizing tables.

I’ve currently got all the tables on layers and it will work fine if I just export 1 page with one layer on but when

I put them all on it won’t export correctly…

Have you come across this or would you have put the InDesign document together in a different way?

Be greatful of any suggestions but I don’t seem to be able to find anything online about layers and epubs….

Thank you

Ollie

If I were tasked with this, I’d do it with a multi state object. That would avoid a lot of issues.

In the meantime, why not group the close button with the rest of the table?
