Question

"Missing Fonts" not missing

On Mac Mojave, long-time ID user, recently installed CC. InDesign is telling me fonts are missing, but they are right there in the font list! Have never seen this before. Arial MT is in a single folder in Library/Fonts. Some are fine (extra bold and extra bold italic), and others are shown to be missing. Did try putting into the InDesign fonts folder; made no difference. Looked at other (CS5) documents using the font; same result. Tried using font in a new document; same result. Did recently clean font cache; maybe try that again? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

There could be more than one version of Arial MT. If you click More Info you can check the missing font’s version.

The version in your type menu is listed as a type1 postscript fontˆthe missing font could be an open type version

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not the case: I created the document in CS5 using the exact postscript Arial MT currently installed and listed as active, even in InDesign. "More info" does say the missing font is postscript type1. I did try removing the Arial ttf font set from the Library/Fonts folder; that made no difference. I'm ready to give up and just use the ttf fonts instead. Thanks again.

If you create a new document and set some text with Arial MT does it show as missing?

Your instance of Arial MT Extra Bold is showing as not missing, if you click Reveal in Finder are the missing fonts showing in the same folder?

what does font book tell you? Is the font active in your font Book?

Yes, it is active in Font Book. Works fine in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Word.
