SharedContent.InDesignPlugIn

I own a legacy copy of Adobe InDesign CS5, and have a bunch of old files on my computer done in that application. Last year I purchased the online Adobe Suite, and just recently scaled that back to the Photo package only, as I was not using the Ai and Id platforms. It looks as though because I had the online version of Id, all my files are now converted to that version, and I cannot open them using my CS5 version!! It says there is a plug-in I must get. It says the plug in is SharedContent.InDesignPlugIn.

How do I get this, or overcome this problem?

Any file you opened and saved with the CC will not be compatible with CS5. My only suggestion is to subscribe to InDesign for one month and save each file as an IDML file which should open in CS5. New features will be lost or mangled and text may reflow differently.

    Thanks Bob. Any second opinions?

Only first opinion. You can't work directly in old InDesign with new-version of indd. You can place here link to your file to some dropbox/yadisk service and somebody will do for you idml.

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner
