Suddenly can't save a file in ID

I suddenly cannot save a file. I get an error message. "Cannot save under new name. The file is damaged. Error code: 1 (or 0)."

I *can* save it as an IDML file. I restart. No help.

What the heck has happened?

I googled and come up w a lot of ppl having this problem over the years. No real help or answer except save as IDML. Here's a link to one supposed fix:

InDesign CC (13.0.1.) - Often can't save as InDesign-Document (error code 0) – Adobe InDesign Feedback

It says to make sure there's a Recovery folder. The routing address is totally off per my Mac. I can't find any of the folders mentioned! it said it was a Mac problem. the advice was recent. but my mac didn't have hardly any such pathway or folders. “/Users//Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version/13.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/*”

For my Mac, Users goes to Admin/Guest/Shared. My hard-drive has Library > Caches, but only a few folders and no Adobe at all.
