Hi,

Track changes are designed to not work for footnote text. If you feel this is important please log a feature request for the same at Adobe InDesign Feedback

Similarly tagging of footnote text is not supported. I also fail to understand as to why you would want to tag footnote text..

Hi priyasreek,

As per your query, track change in footnotes is not working. There is no bug reported as such.

Are track changes working on normal text?

Also please refer to Track changes in footnotes

Hope this helps!

Regards

Srishti

I do not understand the replies to this topic from some Adobe Employees. They might want to talk to people who produce books or magazines, typical editorial surroundings. I myself produce different publications such as books to >1.500 pages including hundreds of Footnotes. I set up a collaboration using Adobe InDesign and InCopy with editors and translators. I mean, what was Adobe InCopy originally designed for? Just for this type of collaboration, right?

So I would like to ask the Adobe Exmployees, why collaboration ends with copy text and headlines? Is there no need from their point of view to edit Footnotes or so? I surely can't imagine any reasonable argument to limit an important function like track text changes to standard text and to exclude footnotes from it. Really, this statement from amaarora doesn't seem to be very helpful for you customers.
