Unable to enter decimal point in Story Editor on number keypad

Is there a way to get IDD to accept the entry of a decimal point from the number keypad while working in Story Editor? I am editing a price list and it's really a slowdown to have to strike the period key on the text keyboard instead of the decimal point on the number keypad. This is only a problem in Story Editor, everything works as expected in the main text frame window. Older versions of IDD did not have this "enhancement".
