I'm having this issue after upgrading to 24.4.1 with Lightroom 12.3 on Windows 10. The taskbar tab turns orange, but I have to click on it to get Photoshop to come forward.
For years now, choosing 'Edit in...' has then opened the image in the chosen app, but for some reason now
'Edit in Photoshop' stays in Lightroom and I need to physically choose the Photoshop app to see the image opened there. Maybe some meny setting will restore to the old way of automatically opening in the chosen app? Need help with this please. TIA, Ken...
Apparently there are different issues but mine is pretty straightforware and I provide a screen shot. I've always been able to select 'Edit in..." and then choose Photoshop and then it opens up IN Photoshop. Lately, it opens in Photoshop alright but does not take me to Photoshop, I need to choose the Photoshop App to be able to see the file now opened in Photoshop.
Try logging into another Mac user account (you should make a new one); does it work the same, better?
When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, one of the first things to try is this: 1. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud application to uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic and when asked, keep preferences. 2. Install Photoshop first, then Lightroom Classic. The order of the product installed is what is very important here. Better?

When I use Cmd-E to transfer a pic from Lightroom to Photoshop the pic opens in Photoshop but I have to now manually select Photoshop instead of being automatically switched to it as before. Only since the last update to Lightroom.
Yes, all of my software is updated the day it is released so always the latest version. This is why this problem happened, it was after the latest update. Yess I keep all apps open all of the time, Everything normal to the way. I always work, This appears to be a bug.
I have new information to add. I changed my video card to meet the DirectX 12 requirments of PS Beta and GenFill. Problem is now resloved. I replaced two video cards, a GeForce 730 amd a GeForce 710 with a GeForce RTX 3060. Hopefully, this will help the bug team.
Ok, I spoke too soon. Mine has stopped working correctly again. The only change I think I have made is profiling one of my monitors with i1Display Profiler. I'll try a reboot later and see if it starts working correctly.
I've just updated and the behavior is not fixed. I restarted everything just to be sure. What am I missing? Is this the fix that will make the Photoshop screen open up when I choose 'open in...' from Lightroom? This is still not working for me and it had worked fine until the previous update to Lightroom.

I have tried to take a video using my iPhone and used Lightroom to try to import the video so I could send to you and chose 'trust' to get the files onto my computer but it said is was replacing all of my files on the computer with the contents of the iPhone and now I think I am in a. worse mess than I was when I started because I don't know how to get a video of the screen off of my iPhone so I can choose the file and send to you. From Light room I tried to import the video off of the iPhone onto my Mac to the desktop and it imported but when I looked at the desktop there is no video file there. This is terrible. I was able to take a video of what is happening which is nothing really other than showing Lightroom, right clicking on an image and choosing open in Photoshop and then it does nothing... I have to choose the app Photoshop to see the image which indeed did open but does not switch from Lightroom to Photoshop like it used to do, I have to choose Photoshop manually and then can see the file opened there. I am hesitant now because of the mess this has been to try to delete Photoshop and reinstall because I don't know how or what is the correct way to do that...
