P: LrC 13.1 crashing regularly on two different laptops/setups (9046173)

Okay, so just noticed recently that both my work laptop (Win10) and home laptop (Win11) have started crashing when jumping in/out of Library/Develop modules. I tend to end up with a grey screen in the main image area first before LrC either crashes completely or just hangs with the grey screen for ages.

Work laptop crash report attached (got deleted on upload). System setup info also attached for both.

Weird its just started. I'm using SSDs for both external catalogues too - only common factor?

The crash from your personal address maps to an existing bug that is planned for a future release. I've cross-referenced the existing bug to this thread so that when a fix is released, this thread will be notified.

Thanks for the other email. I will be removing it from your post for security purposes.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s?

"DirectX: NVIDIA T1200 Laptop GPU (27.21.14.6209)"

This graphics driver is 2.5 years old, and LR is very sensitive to driver bugs (of which there are many). Update to the latest driver from here:

Work:

Library Path: D:\Phils Lightroom Library\Phil-LIC-2023\Philrcatl-LIC-2023-v13.

Home:

Library Path: E:\LR2020\LR2020-v13.lrcat

So these are completely different catalogs, correct?

Thanks, yup. The one with LIC references are Work related, the other my personal one, hence using Work and Personal laptops (Win10 and Win11 respectively)

Hi Rikk - I may have only completed the Home(Win11) laptop Adobe Crash report. Not sure I did that with my work one. So you will have likely got one from <removed>

Thanks yes, that laptop build is controlled by our IT team. Though both laptops are experiencing exactly the same issue with Lightroom, so likely unrelated.

The work laptop may be experiencing multiple issues, so I recommend you get your IT team to update the graphics driver. There are hundreds of posts here about LR problems of all sorts caused by old graphics drivers.
