Hi All! The team is investigating this. Please check if the file path for the original images includes a ( ' ), or any other special characters, and rename the folder. If the file path is, for example:

   Pictures\2025\August's Favorites\Sample Folder
Rename it to:

   Pictures\2025\Augusts Favorites\Sample Folder

Folders renamed outside of Lightroom Classic will still need to be relinked to Lightroom. You can right-click on the folder name & use Find Missing Folder, or follow the steps list

Hi all! The update to Lightroom Classic v14.5.1 is now available and includes a fix for this issue.

If you don’t see the update in your Creative Cloud app, refresh it using Ctrl/Cmd + Alt/Opt + R.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the update to show up.

Thanks for your patience.

Sameer K.

I am using the LrC 14.5 and. PS 26.9,

On August 13th 2025 the uptdates to both applications were available on Adobe Creative Cloud app and I followed the folling procedure.

First I installed the Photoshop app, after installation I opened the application to ensure the instaliton was completed successfully and closed PS.

Next I proceeded to install LrC and then opened LrC to ensure the application completed successfully. Then closed LrC..

Rebooted LrC and utilised to do some edits, selected an image and used the edit in PS to send the image for further editing the procedure completed without problems.

This is my normal procedure for the last few years and have not encountered problems with this feature.

I can't reproduce this on my system.

What happened if you're only send one image with "Edit in Photoshop.." to Photoshop?

What happened if you open Photoshop first and then send the images as layers to Photoshop?

How much images do you have select for sending to Photoshop?

Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic:  How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

If this doesn't help, please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

I continued trying to solve the problem today, but without success. CameraRaw 17.5 is blocking the process. I searched for an older version again. I found the 17.4.2 CameraRaw installer on the internet. With this, all functions work perfectly in Lr and Ps. This suits me fine.

Ps 26.10 has arrived, which solves this problem. Thank you, Adobe.

Since the latest update, I can no longer send images to Photoshop. Photoshop does launch, but the image doesn’t open.

I’m using:

  • Adobe Lightroom Classic 14.5

  • Camera Raw 17.5

  • Adobe Photoshop 26.10.0

  • Windows

How can I resolve this issue?

@Sameer K After this week's Lightroom update, when I right click "open in Photoshop" in Lightroom, Photoshop itself opens but the photo doesn't open.

But you're talking about finding a missing folder, but I can't do that either. When I click on the photo in question, I don't get "find missing photo"!!! See screenshot.screenshotscreenshot

The issue was indeed caused by the directory name. I changed it from 'Foto's' to 'Fotos', and now everything works perfectly again.

Hi @gradyr_1953! Welcome to the community!

Could you share a few more details about the issue? What exactly happens when you try to use the “Edit in Photoshop” command? Is it greyed out, or does Photoshop open without loading your photo?

Also, just checking, do you happen to have more than one version of Photoshop installed?

Thanks so much!
Alek

@IngridVD

Yes it is the Foto's part of the folder name. Right click on the folder name and choose Rename..., then change Foto's to Fotos.

After updating to Lightroom 8.5, Camera Raw 17.5, and Photoshop 26.10, Lightroom will not open a raw file in Photoshop.

I’ve seen this happen after updates. Usually it works again if you update both Lightroom and Photoshop to the very latest version so they match. You can also try resetting the preferences in both apps which often clears the problem. Hope this will be helpful for you.

Same problem as everyone else on this forum. After udating to Ps 26.10 no RAW files will open in LrC 14.5. Working on a Mac Ventura 13.7.1. Tearing my hair out with frustration as I have unistalled and re-installed both Ps and LrCand deleted the " ' " from filepath, to no avail . Please fix this SOONEST!!!!

"Edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom classic on my windows desktop isn't working anymore. I read the previous discussions, but until now nothing is solving the problem. Not even re-installing both programmes on my computer. Whenever I choose "edit in photoshop", Photoshop will open but not the photo I want to edit. I think it started maybe after the last update 3 days ago?? Otherwise I didn't change anything.

So help is very, very welcome after more than 2,5 hour trying to solve it...

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I am using Lightroom Classic v14.5 to try and "edit in" Photoshop v26.10.  This worked yesterday morning prior to installing the new version of Photoshop.  Photoshop will open, but the image does not open to edit or open as a smart object.  I am running the latest Mac OS.  I also have uninstalled Lightroom and Photoshop and then reinstalled them with Photoshop first.  I have allowed Full Disk Access to Lightroom and Photoshop.

Since upgrading Lightroom Classic, I am no longer able to send photos from there into Photoshop 2025. Is anyone else having the same issue? If so, do you have a fix or a work around?

I had this issue recently and it turned out to be because the file had an apostrophe in the name. So maybe now some characters are blocking the transfer. Oddly, the file would open in PS directly. But trying to transfer from LR to PS only worked when I renamed it
