P: Syncing photos taken with the Android phone LR app to LR Classic desktop

I am using the LR Mobile app on my Android phone. Until recently everything was working perfectly. Since the last update to the Android app on July 10 photos I have taken with my LR app camera continue to sync to my Adobe Cloud account but they do not get synced to my desktop LR Classic as they did previously. Photos I take with the native Android Camera app do sync to both Adobe Cloud and to my desktop LR Classic.

Is anyone else having this problem and can anyone help me with a solution?

Thanks in anticipation.

Jim, a new image taken with the phone's camera app and added to LR mobile synched to LR Classic desktop. However, the 2 original "problem" images did not synch after doing this. Since I'm not using LR (cloud) on my desktop I can't download original with settings. I tried deleting the problem images from LR mobile on the phone and then re-adding them, but there was no change on the desktop.

I have restarted LRC on my desktop and the downloading issues have resolved and the missing images have downloaded.

Thanks for prompting me to try some other techniques to "refresh" the synch between the devices. 🙂

It's entirely possible that your issue is just a slight variation on the initial reports, and thus may well have been addressed by the 5.4 update (in the sense of stopping the problem from recurring on new images). It would help to verify or exclude this by doing two things:

1. Try the workaround to see it that does "fix" the images which are currently stuck syncing.
2. Try importing new images into the LR Android app (after it has been updated to 5.4) to see if that stops the problem recurring.

Jim, My problem is not with photos taken with the LR app camera but with pictures I made using the Android camera app on my Samsung phone that I then added to LR mobile on the same phone. Those are the images that stopped synching down to my LRC desktop. In the past this has worked fine so something else "broke". It's possible it was a phone update issue, but I'm starting with the Adobe products.

Have either of you tried to use the workaround which I posted 4 weeks ago at the top of this thread?

Exactly the same experience for me. No changes at all after the updates.

I have updated both my desktop LR Classic and my Lightroom mobile on my Android phone with the latest release (9.4 and 5.4, respectively). These have not fixed my issue. I even rebuilt the synch file but there was no change. I still can see the images in question on Lightroom web and on my phone but they do not download to my desktop. The same messages appear in the Synch preferences as before.

Hi Bob,

deleting is not an option for me. And I doubt that this could be a professional solution which you would expect from Adobe.

Best,
Wolfgang.

Wolfgang,

Once I updated LR Mobil, new images would download to LR Classic properly. The old ones remained stuck. In my case I was OK with deleting the old ones.

Unfortunately, the previously taken photos still do not sync with Lr Classic. Therefore, the update has not solved the problem yet.

Rikk,

LR mobile on my Android devices have been updated, and everything seems to be working properly.  Thank you.

Also, can you provide an update on when LR will support the Samsung S10 cameras?

Thanks!

Bob
