Since said update, LR goes into "not responding" mode with CPU usage "very high" and does not come back. Killing the LR task and restarting does not help.

Nach der Installation von LR Classic 13.0 funktioniert die Maskierung von Motiven, Himmel oder Hintergrund nicht mehr. LR stürzt mit schwarzem Bildschirm ab.
I've just tried again. I set both side panels to the max. Then I went into the develop modul, to Color Mixer, to Point Color and turned the little upper triangle to make the box small. Than I went to masking and I was able to create a new mask. I used sky and could work on the mask. I closed masking and re-opened it, it still works. I don't know, if that should be the solution, but even as a workaround it would be ok for the moment. Curious, if that works for others as well!
Hello everyone, I also had the mask problem on my Win11 PC. After everything didn't help and I went back to V12.5, I tried the tip with enlarging the right panel. What can I say, it worked for me too!!! I can now work with LR classic V13 again as usual. Thanks to all for your efforts so far;
I have upgraded to Lightroom 13. During which it upgraded the catalog. However, as Soon as I opened Lightroom and attempted to do anything (click on Developer tab for instance), it Crashed. I submitted a report and checked the auto submit. Now EVERY attempt to start lightroom results in a crash (presumably also auto reporting!).
Open Creative Cloud Desktop. Click on Apps., Under Apps, Click Update. You Should then see the new version of Lgoom CC v13.0.1 and the updat button should show up.
Mine is, too. At least 20 times today trying to edit about 200 photos. I do not think LRC has crashed on me for years. This version is way too unstable and Adobe needs to address ASAP!!!
Have you folks made any progress on this? Version 13.01 did NOT solve the problem. I still have several sudden crashes per day: Lightroom just disappears from the task bar, with no crash warning. I did have ONE Adobe crash notice, I think yesterday, which I filled out. But generally not. This doesn't happen with any other programs, and it didn't happen with 12.5. I've updated my video driver twice now (Nvidia just put out a new one), but the problem has not gone away.
Every version of Lightroom classic makes it slower and slower. I have a Windows computer with i9 CPU, 64 GB RAM and very fast NVMe disk but changing a picture in DEV takes up to 5 seconds, the Brush tool updates take up to 10 seconds and creates traces of my movements to the menus while waiting. Then you have to go back and redo the things you did. Working on pictures takes sometimes 30 minutes. Not because it is so complex what I do but because Lightroom Classic is soo slow. Already it happens when I start Lightroom: Windows indicate that Lightroom is hanging in the menu bar. I know why: because Adobe chose using Node.js with Javascript to speed up programming features instead of building fast en solid code with C++ that takes more time. My memory goes up to 35 GB only using Lightroom Classic which is of cause the opposit of amazing. Please improve performance because nowadays cameras have RAW pictures up to 60 MB but the hardware can manage that, but Lightroom Classic doesn't.
