P: Shortcut CTRL + ALT + O (Show Loupe Overlay) doesn't work

Hi,

Since the Lightroom Classic 13.4 update I can no longer trigger the Show Loupe Overlay using the keyboard shortcut CTRL + ALT + O.

It still works using the menu (View > Loupe Overlay > Show).

Another update, another new bug I guess 😜

Confirmed this was fixed in LR 14. A possibly related issue surfaced on Mac and is the subject of another report:

Greetings all,

A new update for Adobe Photography Products has been released.  The October (MAX) update contains an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

I haven't been able to use this shortcut for a few months now. It's really annoying when I have hundreds of photos to edit and each time I have to search for an option buried in the menu.

"Where do I find this file, "TranslatedStrings*.txt"?"

See here for how to manually edit the file. Or use the Any Shortcut plugin to do it for you and figure out which shortcuts you want to reassign.

"Something like this should be possible to fix in a next minor update, isn't it?"

It's a trivial amouont of effort to fix. But Adobe rarely announces ahead of time when/if they'll fix a bug.

Where do I find this file, "TranslatedStrings*.txt"?

When I search in explorer I can only find this as part of the XRiteColorChecker plugin, and this file doesn't contain the "ToggleObjectAware" string.

Something like this should be possible to fix in a next minor update, isn't it?

This one has been driving me crazy for months... until I found this thread. Thank you Johnrellis for explaining the cause of the problem. Now I that know, I've been able to go and redefine the shortcut manually in TranslatedStrings_Lr_en_US.txt, assigning a different one to ToggleObjectAware. I can't believe that one of my most used shortcuts is finally working again!!!!

Still, I hope this one gets officially fixed without people having to change things manually, thanks.

@YannigVdW: "CTRL + ALT + O works in Loupe, but never in Develop."

You could use the Any Shortcut plugin to assign another shortcut to the View > Loupe Overlay > Show command.

Unfortunately, you can't un-assign Ctrl Alt O from the Toggle Object Aware command, since Adobe hardwired that assignment into LR.

CTRL + ALT + O works in Loupe, but never in Develop.

Sadly, I'm a Develop/keyboard kind of guy, so there's no useful workaround for me.

Thanks for the report. We were able to repro.

Work around: Choose View > Loupe Overlay > Show from Menu bar and it will work normally.
