32 Bit Error Message when installing Lightroom 6 Classic (hard disk)

I bought an unused Lightroom 6 CD from a private party a few years back.  It was never used/installed on my computer.  Recently, I upgraded to an M1 Macbook air.  When I try to install the Lightroom from the CD, I get an error message that says the Lightroom version is 32 bit and cannot be installed on my 64 bit Macbook and I need to contact the manufacter.  What does that mean?  Is there a work around to get the disk to download and Lightroom be useable on my new Mac?

Lr 6 ccannot be installed on newer Mac operating systems, which prevent 32 bit programs (the installer program for Lr 6 is 32 bit) from running.

Thak you for the clarification.  I was afraid of that.  It will only work on 32 bit computers then?  Is that correct?  How will in know if the computer is 32 or 64 bit?

LR6 should run as a 64-bit application under Monterey and maybe Ventura (I never tried that) but installing it is the issue; you must boot into an OS that can support the 32-bit installer (the last being Mojave). That's a big problem for M1's because Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina and M1 Macs do not run 32-bit and can't boot into Mojave.
IF your new Mac wasn't an M1 (Apple Silicon), you are OK but if it is, you're SOL, it isn 't going to install or run,
