Accessing LR Classic catalog from 2 computers

New Here ,
Jul 30, 2019 Jul 30, 2019

How do I access photos that I've edited on 1 computer an another computer.  The photos reside on an external hard drive that I move from one computer to the other.

When I uploaded the photos to computer 2, the edits were not visible.

You need to put the catalog file on the external drive and move it from one computer to another. Then launch the catalog file on whatever computer it is connected to. Depending on your operating system, there may be one or two other steps.

Note: catalog on an external drive will run slower than catalog on an internal drive.

Thank you Tony. Very thorough.  I'll be using method 1, mostly because I don't quite get #2.  I'll get my geeky brother to translate for me... slowly  .

This is why Lightroom (formerly know as Lightroom Mobile, Lightroom CC, whatever) was invented. I'm not suggesting you switch, but having everything in the cloud make is it easy to access on any computer, any device.

If you use RAW files, make sure you write changes to the XMP sidecars. That way you can access those files on a different computer and the edits will be saved.
