Accidentally removed a photo from Lightroom Classic. Is there a way to restore the edit?

I accidently removed a photo from lightroom about a week ago. Is there an easy way to restore the edit I did?

Fingers crossed!

Thanks,

Gina

If you removed the original image from LrC all your edits would have been removed from the Catalog file.
Did you have "Automatically save Metadata to XMP" selected or saved the metadata to the file manually you may be able to restore the one of your edits by reimporting the file.

I don't know what automatic save metdata to XMP is so I probably didn't have that enabled!

Oh well, I can re-edit it.

If you have catalog backups or if you had automatic saving of xmp sidecars turned on there is. Just open a backup of the catalog or just reimport the image if it has a sidecar. If not, then the only hope is if you never closed CLassic in the interim and you did not do anything else, then you can simply hit undo until the image pops back.

Thanks for the reply. I have now idea what "automatic saving of xmp sidecars" is so I am going to assume that I didn't have that on!

If it was a raw image, you can recognize whether you had by looking at the orginal file in Finder/Explorer. If there is a file with .xmp extension right next to it with the same base name then you had that enabled
