Applying a user preset to all selected images

Hey there,

I have recently created a preset using the Spyder Color Checker. I'm trying to apply said preset to all 200 images of the series other than by selecting each individually and clicking the preset. I've been working with LR since 10 years now, so I'm asking myself what's going on.

I have found all sorts of (outdated) guides on how to achieve this, since the logical way via "Sync" doesn't seem to work - via Develop module, Quick Develop etc. Once I click any other image than the "root" image to check, no matter what I sync, the preset isn't being applied automatically.

I just can't believe this can be that difficult. Please help. Thank you!

Win 10, most recent version of LR, 14.2 release,  the build of which for some reason I can't copy from the popup

  1. Select all desired images
  2. In the Develop module, turn Auto-Sync on
  3. Apply preset
  4. Turn Auto-sync off

  1. Library Module>Grid Mode [ G]
  2. Select desired
  3. Go to Quick Develop Panel - Choose Preset from the "Saved Preset" Pulldown.

I had tried that, no effect!

No - I tried this several times over the course of half an hour, and normally, changes take on immediately, i.e. a few seconds for a large batch. I usually either apply a preset on import, but imported on another computer (without said preset, though I'd expect all those presets to spread over all my systems through the Adobe Cloud, but that's a different story), copied the pictures o an SSD and imported without thinking of the preset then.

The images are all basically a stack of RAWs, same camera, same lens, same date, all the same.

Edit: I just tried the above workflow on another system and there it worked. But NOT with the Color Checker profile, whichdoesn't exist there. I'll try again tomorrow!

Edit 2: just turned back on to try.
I tried 2 folders: the Auto Sync method did only work, when I picked one of the images that did not have the preset applied,  but the grid view -Quick Develop method didn't - maybe that's the preset? Couldn't imagine why. On my other workstation, where I tred this previously, it worked fine with one of the native LR presets.

It is possibly a bad preference file.
This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop, it can change your local storage location. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

Interesting - there is no other, logical way than a tiny switch I never used before? What astounds me the most is that you can't check "preset" in the sync popup.

Anyhow, this works fine, I thank you and my hair follicles praise you!

I never said "there is no ther logical way", there probably are. I don't see how the size of the switch is relevant here, Adobe provided the exact tool you want.
