Question

Auto white and black point sync in Lightroom

I do a lot of quick raw editing and just need to get photos to a base line with fullest possible tonal range (ie. minimal or no clipping).  For an individual photo using auto and then shift clicking the white and black sliders works.  But for multiple photos, it doesn't seem to sync this action.  Is it possible to "shift-click" the black and white point on multiple photos at once, the way I can use the Auto button on multiple photos?  Thanks!

Some people use Auto and then clear the Basic settings they're not interested in:

1. Apply Auto to all the photos.

2. Apply to the photos a preset that clears all the Basic settings except Blacks and Whites.

But note that the Blacks and Whites set by Auto is often much different than what you get by shift-double-clicking Blacks and Whites, and you may or may not like the results.

The Personalized Auto Tone plugin automates this method to give you easier, finer control.

EDIT/Got on a PC, what I was thinkin of is wrong (crossed out)

When applying an edit to multiple photos in the develop module, that way, the mods to the most selected photo are applied to all the selected photos. It does not treat each photo independent, and make the appropriate corrections photo by photo.

Now, not at a computer just now. Can you do the same in Library module, some limited mods can be done their, and are treated in the way you are hoping for, but less accurate.

Hi Scott,

Have you tried creating a preset and then applying that preset on multiple images at once? https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/help/develop-module-tools.html
