Automatic ejects of SD cards

I seem to have somewhere seen how to avoid/unselect the above phnomenon. But fail to find the proper place in LrC. I am using the 10.11 release of the said program, and indeed it is frustrating to constantly having to withdraw the SD-card and to insert it again in order to proceed my editing of the files on the card. Would highly appreciate any help. Thanks! Per Hildebrant+

Yeah. Just because you can do "X" does not mean you should do "X."

 

BTW, as a "just in case," if any software offers to erase your card before it's ejected, do not do that. Take the card out and reformat the card IN YOUR CAMERA. If your computer reformats your card in a different manner that your camera does not understand (think Mac formating for a PC), than you can buy a new card. ALWAYS reformat in the camera you use.

Agreed. There is an option to have the card ejected. However, it is only available in the import dialog. You insert the card to import the images to the hard drive and then have Lightroom eject after the import Is complete. DON'T try to edit on the card. NOT a good practice.

Are you editing files that are ON the card??

 

If so, DO NOT DO THAT. These cards are ment to capture, store, and release the files to your hard dive (or external drive), PERIOD.
