Black screen when I hit F to view full screen

Community Beginner ,
Oct 20, 2024 Oct 20, 2024

Hi guys

Thank you for reading my post.

I'm using LR Classic V: 14.0.1

When I hit F on my keyboard to view an image in full screen view...I get a black screen. The metadata for the image appears breifly but nothing else just a black screen.

If I close LR and re-open everything is normal ? But the black screen re appears again some time later.

Is this a bug ? Or have I caught something in error ?

Anyone else see this ?

Try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue. Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

Please go to Help > System info, click the Copy button and paste in a reply here.

After pasting, delete everything below Installed plugins, it is not needed, causes lots of scrolling, and makes the thread difficult to navigate.

You have posted in Using the community, which is a forum for issues with the forums.

A moderator will move this thread to Lightroom Classic.

@windhover_uk

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. Please make also sure that you have installed the Studio version and not the Game Ready version of your NVidia driver.
