Blurb Book Upload Problem

Hi

For the last two days I have been trying unsuccessfully to upload a photo book that I have made in Lightroom to Blurb.

Every time the book upload gets to around 80% and stalls.  I have tried it several times over the past day or two and the result is the same every time.  I have tried restarting Lightroom and my PC.

Looking at the Lightroom status it says "Waiting for Blurb Server Processing".

Running Lightroom Classic CC 8.3 on Windows (which as far as I know is fully up to date).  I am logged in to the Creative Cloud and have successfully signed Lightroom into Blurb.

Any suggestions?

Anyone else having the same issue?

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction. 

 

If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

My experience has been that on a slow internet connection my books would take several hours to upload. I would leave them to upload overnight. I would also notice that uploads seemed to stall at times but then the upload indicator would rapidly move to finish.

The "Waiting for Blurb Server Processing" error has not appeared in these forums for some time, but was very common when Lr Classic v8.0 and 8.1 were released. Good that you are running v8.3!

As the error suggests- it is an error with Blurb.

Two suggestions-

Be patient, and let your upload run overnight. You may find it has finished the next morning.

Or

Export your Book to PDF and use Blurb's PDF upload site- http://www.blurb.com/pdf_uploader_frontend/index.html#/cho…

If your photo files are large (my Leica pics are 50mb each!) it will take for ever to load to Blurb.  So before you make your book export your pics as JPEGS of around 10 inches wide and no more than 2 mb each which is plenty quality for a book.  Then create your book using those pics.  Ta da! it will upload in a short space of time - say 25 mins for a 100 page book.
