C: Drive suddenly filling up

c drive getting full when exporting image to my lightroom classic

I've already changed the location for the Camera raw cache, but it still gets filled up :disappointed_face:
I used it again earlier and it consumed 30gb of my C:Drive so I uninstalled LR hoping it'd solve things, but it only gave back 6gb :disappointed_face:
I don't know what to do at this point as I don't want to accidentally delete any necessary files

If you move the Lightroom folder to the D drive, it will stay there.

To launch Lightroom from the new location, double-click the catalog file (which has the extension .lrcat).

Lightroom will now remember the location of the catalog.

Like I said earlier, it's the Library previews that take up most of the space.

If you create 1:1 previews on import, the previews folder can become very large.

And if you use Smart previews, they will also use a lot of space. 

Uninstalling doesn't clear up much space, because it only removes the program files, the User folders aren't touched.

Moving the Lightroom folder to D should fix the problem, as long as you have enough space there.

Will moving the lightroom folder permanently keep it at D?

Probably your Camera RAW CACHE  location as Per Bernstein has stated.

However, can you post your system information as lightroom classic reports it? In lightroom click on Help, click on System Information, click on Copy, paste in a reply

The default location for the folder containing the Lightroom catalog is the Pictures folder under your username on C.

This folder also contains the Library previews, which can take up a lot of space. I have 23,000 photos in the catalog, and the previews folder is 11.5 GB. You can delete the previews folder anytime, but the previews will be recreated as you browse the library.

You can move the whole Lightroom folder to D, but if this is a slower disk than C, you will probably notice a drop in performance. The catalog folder should preferably be located on an SSD disk.

Another item that takes up some space is the Camera Raw cache. This also defaults do the C drive, but you can move it by going to Preferences > Performance > Camera Raw cache settings.
