There is no "Save" function for catalogs in Lightroom Classic. Your entire catalog is saved automatically. What Lightroom Classic function are you trying to do that you are not able to do?

Hello Junala, have you solved your problem by now? I have the same issue on Mac. Until Nov. '23 everything was fine. But suddenly I couldn't store my catalog any more. But the setup hasn't changed: Writing and reading rights haven't changed (full disc access for lightroom),  there is plenty of space on the hard drive (600GB). I tried to store the catalog on another location and drive, I renamed the folders but everything I have tried so far didn't work out. Interesting fact, when I load the latest backup (mid Nov) I can store the catalog. Any hints, what I can do?

If it does work with your latest backup, then this indicates it may be some kind of catalog corruption.

As your backup is probably too old to simply replace your current catalog with it, you could try the following:

1: Create a brand new catalog

2: Verify that Lightroom has no problem backing up this new catalog

3: Choose 'File - Import from Another Catalog' and select your current catalog to import. Select 'Add new photos to catalog without moving' in File Handling.

4: After the import is done, check that Lightroom can still backup this new catalog.

5: If all still works as it should be, then start using this as your new catalog. Lightroom will start rebuilding the previews it needs, but I think you will have to rebuild any smart previews yourself.
