All of a sudden I can't select the watermark option for export. The option is there but it is grayed out. I am using Lightroom 5
It is because you had the Image Format in the File Settings section set to "Original". With that set you can't add anything to the image. Not even the edits you made will show up.

What file format are you exporting to?
Raster (JPEG, TIFF, etc) or not (DNG)

So I take it you can see presets in the Export / Watermarking area, but can't select anything?
All the Watermarks below highlight when rolled over as shown . . .
But your not getting that?

You need to check the Watermark Box first before you can select a watermark.

Then you are most likely exporting to DNG. Please answer davidg36166309 question in post 1.
Sorry, I see you already answered. Can you confirm that it is JPEG? It doesn't show in your screen shot.

Still doesn't show Image Format.
We need this:
I don't work with an iPhone so I can't say if that might be the problem, but yes, you should be able to watermark a JPEG.

OK, the example filename in your screenshot says Pig-1.jpeg, so it looks like that is not the issue here.

ok so when I tried to export a TIFF and add the watermark it would let me. I then tried a jpeg again and now it works.

Weird, but if that fixed it, great.
