Cannot access presets in Lightroom Classic after latest upgrade

I have found my presets and moved them into the Develop Presets folder within Lightroom Settings. But I am still unable to access them. I am used to presets appearing in a box to the left of the primary Lightroom window, but this left box has disappeared and I can't get it to come back once I'm in the develop module. I tried making a "new preset" using one of my old ones, in the hopes that the box would appear, but got an error message: "File has already been imported."

    First of all, upgrading Lightroom Classic should do nothing to your presets. There should be no reason to find them and/or move them anywhere. If you do not see the presets panel (the "box"), then right-click somewhere in an empty part of the header of another panel. That will bring up a contextual menu where you can toggle the visibility of all the panels.

     

    The Develop Presets folder is an old folder, no longer in use. Develop presets are now shared with Camera Raw, and so they are stored in the Camera Raw Settings folder. Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings.

      Hi Johan,

      Thanks for answering. The preset finding/moving was a response to other advice given elsewhere regarding catalogs.

      I know I still have my presets but thought perhaps they weren't in the updated, active catalog. Turns out that was fruitless.

      Below are the options given when I "right-click somewhere in an empty part of the header of another panel." You'll note that the Develop panel seems to be selected for display/visibility.

       

      Thanks for letting me know about the presets now being stored in Camera Raw. I get this far in your directions:

      "Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserName" - but Library doesn't come up as a choice under my user name, so I've been unable to access  the CameraRaw settings.

       

      When I open Lightroom Classic/Preferences/Presets, the default camera is Fujifilm X-T2. I no longer use that camera - I have switched to a Canon R5. But I can't get the camera to switch and wonder if that may be part of the problem I'm having?

      First of all, your user/library folder is hidden by default. Here's how you unhide it: press Command-Shift-H to open your home folder; go to View->Show View Options (or press Command-J); check the box to show Library folder. Your screenshot shows that you have 'Store presets with this catalog' checked, so your presets are in your catalog folder, not in the default location. If you clicked this recently, then be aware that existing presets will not be moved if you click this, so Lightroom won't see them anymore because they are still in the old location!

       

      Secondly, your first screenshot, showing presets in the preferences, is not about the location of your presets, or anything like that. It is where you set a camera default (i.e. a preset that is automatically applied to imported images from this camera). You can only select a particular camera in the popup menu if your catalog contains raw images of that camera. If not, then this camera will not be in the list.


      Finally, your other screenshot shows you misunderstood the instructions. You are not right-clicking on a       panel header, but on the top of the develop window. That is because all your panels (not just the presets panel) may be to be hidden as far as I can see in this screenshot (don't cut out screenshots, always show the entire screen unless you really know what you want to show and why). To show (or hide) both side panel groups, choose Window > Panels > Toggle Side Panels, or press the Tab key. To (un)hide all panels. Most likely you will now see your presets again.
