Cannot back up anymore lightroom catalogs after upgrade to version 14

I just upgraded to v 14 Lightroom classic and I cannot backup any of my 20 lightroom catalogs anymore after the upgrade.

I get always this message:

(Lightroom was unable to back up the catalog named "Lightroom Catalog-v13.5") please check your folder permissions, and make sure that you have available space on your backup drive and main catalog's drive.

My permissions are fine, I have enough space left in my main catalog drive and my external backup drive where I stored all my backups perfectly fine until this new update.

I back up on an external 8Tb drive with 5TB free.

Also why when it has upgraded to v14 it still wants to save as v13.5

Ohhhhh upgrades are always such a pain.........

Anybody has this happen to them too?

Have you tried restarting Lightroom before trying the backup on next exit? This has worked for me and others.

Regarding the catalogue name - they stopped renaming the catalogue with this release. And if you read the release notes you see they have added a Rename Catalogue command allowing you an easy way to name the catalogue to your liking.

Thank you for your answer.

I have renamed now all my catalogs with the new function to v14, as I want to keep track of versions .

And in my case I did try to close and open and with no positive results. What worked for me is to select again the folder where I wanted the backup to be placed, and that did the trick . It was the same folder as before, but just had to select it again when I quit and was asked if to backup.

Thanks

The current workaround is to retrieve your previous version's catalog from the "Old Lightroom Catalogs" folder and update it again.

  1.  Update Catalog
  2.  Launch Lightroom
  3.  Close Lightroom
  4.  Relaunch Lightroom

At step 4, things should return to normal. If they do not after following this procedure, please post back into this thread.

Thanks
