Some time ago, in order to save disk space on c:, I moved historical images from travel to an external drive.
I've only worked on current images (all on c:) since then until today I wanted to see if I had images in Shutterfly that I hadn't downloaded (prior to Shutterfly shutting down access)
What I found was that in my LR catalog, the entire content of the external drive was missing from LR!!!
The original files are there....but if I just import them, I'll lose all my modifications done in LR. Disaster!
Help!

How did you move the historical images to the external drive? From inside Lightroom, or using File Explorer outside Lightroom?
A screenshot of the Folders Panel in LrC would probably be useful at this stage.

Not certain, but I've known to do file movement from within LR for quite a while.....so, I think that's what I did.
I also think there might have been an upgrade of LR from 11 to 12 AND a move to a new PC after I moved folders to the external drive.
The images are on Elements (D:)....it's the catalog entries that are missing
The screenshot is of my current

more info:
1. the files are on D: but LR is linked to a separate external drive (F:) which has a backup of the image folders.
2. attaching another screen shot showing the catalog entries (they ARE in my current catalog, but are pointing to the backup drive folder
3. on the old PC (which I still have), my catalog pointed to the backup drive incorrectly
....perhaps not as serious a problem as I first thought, but still a mess if I can't sort it out properly

I think I've solved the problem.
I'm able to go into the catalog, open a folder in F:, right click and select FIND MISSING FOLDER...; and click on its current/correct location.
LR then moves the catalog foler from F: to D:, which is where I want it.

OK, sounds like you've sorted it yourself. Well done.
