Changing aspect ratio from landscape to portrait in LRC blanks out the photo. saying no photo select

MacOS 15.1.1 Apple chip M2 MAX

LRC 14.0.1

Installed Mac secruity patch/update 15.1.1. That's about all I can track it down to.  I don't recall this happening prior to 15.1.1

Restarted mac multiple times.

removed and reisntalled LRC

I can take any photo and crop to any aspect ratio provided it's the same orintation(if it was shot in Landscape I can crop in Landscape. 

when I try to crop from Landscape to Portrait or the other way around it the poto area goes dark and says no photo is selected.

Near As I can tell this only happens when changing from portrait to landscape or landscape to portrait.

 

I stated the trouble shooting steps above so we can bypass all the suggestions of said trouble shooting steps.

I notice that you have at least one filter active (Raiting) . I also notice that at the beginning of your video you have 22 images in the filmstrip (22 of 348). At the end, all of a sudden no image is selected, and you have 21 images in that filmstrip (21 of 348).

 

So something occurs that makes LrC thing that a value that is filtered on is changed in that image. Perhaps not raiting, perhaps something else.

 

Or LrC is fouled up and thinks that when no such change occurred.

 

What if you have no filters applied?

 

I also notice that you appear to be in a folder. Or am I wrong, could you be in a collection? Perhaps a smart collections, perhaps one with a crop ratio or orientation rule???
