Cleaning Up After Uninstalling

I’m using Lightroom CC on my iPad Pro and Macbook Pro with success and have uninstalled Lightroom Classic from the laptop.  Are there files and folders I can delete from the MacBook Pro to free up space without impacting my Lightroom CC installation?

    Correct answer ZomZom

I removed the entire /pictures/lightroom folder and all is well with Lightroom CC, which seems to store everything in a package named /pictures/Lightroom Library.lrlibrary.

    Hi ZomZom,

Lightroom CC do not use as much space as Lightroom Classic CC. If you have original images stored on your computer, I'd suggest you to move them to an external harddrive.

Also, Your Lr classic CC catalog can also be kept on an external drive. That'll include all the previews and settings and should save some space on your computer.

    Thanks,

    Akash

Can you please provide paths and file names?  I was using default settings on LR Classic.

    Thanks.

It's more or less the same locations as Lightroom 6.

    • Catalog  /Users/[username]/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Catalog.lrcat
    • Preview cache  /Users/[username]/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata
    • Smart Preview cache  /Users/[user name]/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata

More locations can be found here How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences
