CMYK color?

Hi, I converted pictures in photoshop in CMYK after correcting them in lightroom cc. the problem is know that the pictures are less saturated (because of CMYK). Is it possible to correct the colors again in lightroom? or is it necessary to do it in photoshop (the problem with photoshop is that i m not so used to this program...) and what i can see it is much less suitable to work on colors and saturation. does somebody have any advice? is there any option in lightroom to have a profile "near" to CMYK? thanks for help. kr

No, Lightroom only works in RGB and there is no profile that is kind of both. Why did oyu convert your photo to CMYK anyway? That is normally something a printer would do, not a photographer. Stay clear of these kind of conversions if you do not really know what you are doing and why!

hi johan, thanks a lot. yes i know :-)! i do it because i like to print it on materials like alumium brushed and there i need to edit the photo on a CMYK profile. So i get a realistic preview of how it will look like. Thanks for a short answer. kr

Assuming you've converted to the corrrect CMYK profile for whatever print process you have in mind, colors lose saturation because they're out of gamut. That's a hard limit. CMYK is based on actual physical inks on paper, and that's the gamut limit. That's all the saturation the inks can produce.

Anything within gamut will remain unchanged.

There's no reason to convert BTW. This is what soft proofing is for.
