Question

Color change when exporting images from Lightroom to my desktop

Hi everyone,
I recently started using Lightroom Classic online using by Adobe account because my laptop, a Linux, does not support the software. I use the online version but the issue I am having may be unrelated. When I upload a photo and start editing it, all seems fine. When I export it though, and I notice this is especially true with RED, and I open the same exported image on my laptop or I upload it online, the colors have changed a bit! A RED tomato which looks amazing during editing becomes too pinkish and fake after I export the picture. I red this is because laptops and browsers use a different color profile (sRGB) than Lightroom, so when I export the photo, the mapping between profiles is done but not fully correct. So my question is, how do I circumvent or fix this problem?

I may have to stop using Lightroom, but I wonder what everyone else is doing. By the way this is happening on the same screen, it is not a different screens colors issue. It is when I export the image that colors change. I would really love and appreciate your help! Thanks in advance!

"I recently started using Lightroom Classic online ......... I use the online version"

There is no 'online' version of Lightroom-Classic.

Please report the exact Version Number of Lightroom you are using.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Hi Rob,

Sorry if I haven't been clear. I am using the Adobe Creative Cloud since I
am on Linux and it does not support Lightroom. I am looking for the version
without success, it must be the very latest one

Also I am using Firefox

If the 'other' application isn't matching Lightroom Classic the likelihood is it isn't color managed (or it would match).

What browser are you using (more are color managed)? sRGB alone isn't an answer; outside color-managed applications, sRGB is a meaningless concept.

Hi,

I am using Firefox, also I am using Linux, which is not great for images
and graphics. Probably there isn't a match, but I cannot change the colour
space in either the environment, Lightroom and local desktop. Firefox shows
what I see on my desktop

I will look at the video, thanks

Are you on Mac or Windows?

In what application are you viewing the exported image?

Which color space are you choosing in the Export dialog?

Also, please post screenshots. Do not attach the files, use the Insert Photos button in the toolbar.

Hi Per,

I am on Linux. Sorry if I haven't been clear, I am using Adobe Creative
Cloud because Linux does not support Lightroom and I can't download it 😕😕
It does not ask me to choose a Colour Space when I export, I am attaching
some pictures.

Working on the online Cloud version might be a disadvantage

As mentioned by @Rob_Cullen , there is no online version of Lightroom Classic, so it seems that you are using Lightroom Mobile. In that case, this thread belongs in the Lightroom ecosystem forum.

To post images, you have to reply using a web browser, it won't work when replying by email.
