Color Profile desktop to cloud

Is there a way to use a custom Color Profile on lightroom classic and then sync pictures with that color profile applied to the cloud and be able to view those pictures and edit them in lightroom mobile without getting errors?

Last time I tried to use a custom colorchecker custom made profile on a picture that I then synced to the cloud, lightroom mobile kept giving me a warning that I could not edit that picture or else it would return to a default profile and even then the colors displayed were totally wrong.

Is there a workaround?

I find it really useful to sync my photos to the cloud so I can see how they look on a tablet or phone, it helps me make sure I don't over-saturate my photos.

No, but it couldn't be simpler. Start Lightroom desktop and choose 'Import presets and profiles'. That's all. They will automatically sync to the cloud.

Yes, but you need to install Lightroom (desktop) too. Use Lightroom desktop to import and sync the profile.

Thanks a lot, I'll give this a shot later tonight, looks like a good workaround.

Could the same result be achieved by generating smart previews instead of standards one in Lightroom Classic?

No smart previews have no bearing on this. Classic only syncs smart previews to the cloud anyway regardless of whether you generated them or not but that fact has no impact on it syncing profiles or not.

Hi again, so I gave this a shot and got the profiles to show up in the mobile app, howerver I experience a weird behaviour in Lightroom Mobile, the colours, when using one of my custom profiles, are very over saturated.

When I look at the same image with the same profile/treatment on my PC the image looks fine.

If I edit a picture in a standard adobe profile and sync that to the cloud, the image looks fine on Lightroom mobile, so it`s really only my profiles which make images look over-saturated on the mobile app.

Any idea what could cause this?

They should work fine, but tablets are usually not color managed, so perhaps that plays a part. I have created custom profiles for a DSLR and a DJI Drone, and both look perfect on my iPad when compared to my Mac.

It's weird that the adobe profile don't look oversaturated on my tablet though, I`ll try it on my wife's cellphone to see how my profiles behave.

What kind of tablet? If it is iOS, make sure to turn off night shift and true color. On android, the calibration might be a major issue as many android tablets have way oversaturated color.

That might be it, it's a cheap amazon FireTablet. The weird thing is that the stock adobe profiles don't look oversaturated. I'll have to investigate.
