Copy catalog from PC to Mac cant locate photos

I've been copying my lightroom catalog and photos from my windows pc to my macbook and back for some time with no issues. Now when I copy from my PC to my Mac all of my photos show up as 'not found' - i.e. and ! appears in the top right hand corner. The path name in the catalog is the windows path name - D:/Photography/... and not the Mac path name.

Has something changed here as I said it's been working properly for me for some time.

In the Folder panel, select the parent folder, right click, and select update folder location, correct that.

Until recently I didn't have to do that. Besides I have a lot of folders so this isn't practical. Interesting though I tried to do just this on a single file and it still fails to locate the file except now the previous location is now the correct Mac path name and the file exists there but LRC still can't locate it.

On further investigation when I try and navigate below Macintosh HD on the folders panel I can't!
